Zhiys is the god of air, an element that exists outside of
Zhok's
control but which its eyes are subject to its power. Zhiys is a
deity who is hard to pin down their motives or predict what they are
going to do next.
Divinity
Divine Domains
Zhiys controls the air and other gaseous matter. It also
controls the concept of space and volume.
Because of the nature of spoken language requiring air to pass
through, Zhiys also controls the domain of spoken language.
Believers, especially Kugma people, do not prioritize spoken
language as the predominant form of communication, as they
recognize the many other forms of communication between people;
however, Zhiys' control over this domain is respected.
Riddles are in Zhiys' domain as well.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Zhiys has no eye symbol like the other gods in the
Infinite Eyes of Zhok, but is instead represented by wavy lines or curves.
Occasionally, for aesthetic purposes, these wavy lines will form
a closed shape, but it is not understood to be an eye, but
merely an artistic choice for symmetry with the other round
symbols of the other gods.
Holidays
While not a holiday per se, the day of a child's first words is
dedicated to Zhiys.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Zhiys' goals are separate from the other gods. Unlike the
dramatics of
Lizh
or the resignation of
Dhûm, Zhiys enjoys their life and lives it despite the other gods'
presence.
